"To collect
one's forces, even when they seem to be scattered, and when one's aim is only dimly perceived -- this is a
great action and will sooner or later bring forth fruits."
(Maria Montessori)
How to Get Started with Montessori Education
I still remember the day, nearly ten years ago, when I asked a Montessori teacher to come to my home to help me
get organized the Montessori way. Back then I was coordinator for Black Hills Catholic Home Educators and a Montessori
teacher had offered her services as a mentor/consultant to our homeschool group. She graciously accepted the task
to help me get organized and her weekly visits helped get me started with Montessori Education in my home. First
she helped me to categorize the toys we already owned and then we talked about some of the basic Montessori presentations
like the Snake Game and the Bank Game.
I recommend a three-year plan for working yourself into Montessori education on my FAQ page.
